Five Guardia Civil officers were injured in the early hours of Sunday morning on the A-4 at Jaén in Andalusia. They were checking vehicles, and one driver refused to stop, driving off a speed, hitting another vehicle at the checkpoint.
The passengers in the vehicle which was hit were unhurt, but the officers carrying out the check were hurt, as were the officers inside an official all-terrain vehicle which was also hit. Later, the offending car was found to be carrying 13.5 kilos of hashish and 1,860 euros in cash. The occupants were arrested, and the officers treated for their injuries.
